On Sunday Horki democratic activists congratulated local people with Independent Day. At the Horki market inhabitants got special cards telling about significant event of March 25, 1918. With informational materials people of Horki city and Horki region learnt about Belarusian National Republic founded more than 90 years ago and its outcomes for further history of our country. |

 Schools and libraries have got a gift from Gorki an antinuclear group handouts “Chernobyl lessons”. The set of materials include information for teachers on organization and conducting lessons, chats, after school classes dedicated to The Day of Chernobyl and others disasters. It can be used by teachers of Physics, Geography, Chemistry, Biology, Primary schools. Special parts for every subject are proposed. All materials are prepared by Moscow partner organization “Ecoprotectoin”. |

 We, the participants of the VI Congress of Belarusian Non-Governmental Organizations and Initiatives, express our disagreement with the process regarding the decision to build a nuclear power plant. Bearing in mind the 1986 Chernobyl tragedy, we call upon the authorities to reverse this decision, which has not been properly presented to, or discussed with Belarusian society. We demand a real public discussion on this issue, based on national and international law. |

 We’re living in the times when quality of life closely tied with permanent exhausting sources.

 New brochure “European Union: environment protection and renewable energy sources” published by civic forces in Horki.
Informational edition briefly and clearly describes the policy of our Western neighbors to counter global warming and climate changes, protect wild fauna and flora, to promote sun, wind and water as energy sources, and recycling of waste.
The brochure has the purpose to show Belarusians how energy problems of their country are close to problems of people in EU and how modern democratic states solve such kind of problems. |
